DEMD Productions

Headed by Eddy Cherki, DEMD Productions produces some 15 films for television annually, focusing its development on 90-minute series featuring recurring lead characters,  such as Joséphine Ange Gardien (TF1, 59 episodes), which won a Sept d’Or award as the Best Fictional Series of 59 and three Best Actress Sept d’Ors for lead actress Mimie Mathy.

DEMD is currently producing a new crime series for France Télévisions including eight 52-minute episodes, as well as a new series of three 90-minute episodes for M6 titled Ma femme ma fille 2 bébés starring Pascal Légitimus and Philippine Leroy Beaulieu.

In addition, the company has produced stand-alone telefilms, such as Tout le monde descend and a sequel to Drôle de famille (episode no. 3) for France Télévisions, as well as the stand-alone telefilm Merci patron for TF1, starring Véronique Genest.

DEMD Productions was responsible for TF1’s summertime miniseries Le bleu de l’océan, shown in five 90-minute episodes that each made TF1’s list of the 10 top-rated programmes for summer 2003.

Productions underway in 2011 include:

-  Five episodes of Joséphine Ange Gardien for TF1.

L’entraineur, a stand-alone telefilm for TF1.

Cain (five 52-minute episodes) for France Télévisions.

Drôle de famille 3 for France Télévisions.

Ma femme ma fille 2 bébés, episodes 2 and 3, for M6.

A film producer turns an idea, a concept or a book into a TV reality: a film. All artistic ideas, even very good ones, don't make it onto tape, far from it in fact. The producer's talent, from his capacity to convince the television channels that the idea will work, his ability to find the artists, authors, directors and actors, is essential to make the ideas become reality. With the arrival of DTTV (Digital Terrestrial Television), competition with US series, and falling interest for TV among young people, our goal today more than ever is to find new innovative ways of being creative and identifying the best talent available to improve film quality every time.
