Editions Musicales François 1er

Editions Musicales François 1er engages in a broad range of activities including music to image production; artistic, legal and financial rights and catalogue management; original creations; consulting and executive production; as well as publishing in all formats. For several years, the company has also handled the exploitation of music rights for Lagardère Entertainment for most of the group’s major productions (Borgia, Mafiosa, 1788 et demi, etc.).

With a rich repertoire renewed on a regular basis, the company is gradually opening up new international opportunities based on recent economic models and platforms while developing an original music architecture in all formats around new composers whose environment it also manages.

Editions François 1er formalizes and harmonizes contracts and budgets, and actively monitors the media that it produces, for both its own catalogues and those of the producers and broadcasters which it handles (series, visual identities, feature films, documentaries, animation, etc.).

In addition, the company is the privileged partner of producers, authors’ unions, labels and publishers throughout the production process.

Music crosses continents ignoring borders. Today, it's even easier and faster to access: at home, outside, on almost all mobile devices, screens, cinemas and other media - music is part of people’s everyday lives. The availability via multiple platforms increases accessibility and arouses listener curiosity.

Our challenge is to bring a larger and more varied musical culture to cinema and television everyday, by encouraging eclecticism, merging of styles, collaboration among composers, popularising music that has been isolated for too long, supporting artists and interacting with directors and producers. Our role is to continue to create, develop and renew, to bring TV production the music it deserves.
