Founded in September 2000 by Jérôme Bellay, Maximal Productions produces commentary, documentaries, news magazines and other information-based programming.
In 2011, Maximal Productions produced over 400 hours of programming, including three daily broadcasts and several documentaries :
- C dans l’air: In this hour-long show, Yves Calvi and his guests focus on a topic making the headlines, backed by special reports produced by the editorial staff (France 5, 5:50 pm).
- C à dire: aired just before C dans l’air, Axel de Tarlé conducts a live interview with the day’s guest (France 5, 5:30 p.m.).
- C politique: a weekly political magazine, hosted by Géraldine Muhlmann (France 5 – 5:40 p.m.), who interviews public figures to provide perspective on the major issues making the news.
Maximal also produces other types of programming such as :
- In Ze Boîte: a daily 30-minute game show for children aged 8 to 12, hosted by Joan Faggianelli (Gulli, 7:05 pm).
- Le Mur de Berlin, a docudrama for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, broadcast on 9 November 2009 (France 2, 110 minutes).
- Muttur: un crime contre l’humanitaire (France 5, 52 minutes), the Albert-Londres prize was awarded to a journalist from Maximal Productions for this film in May 2007.
- @ la carte, a consumer service show hosted by Valérie Durier broadcast daily on France 3 (2008-2009).
