Founded in 2003, Timoon is Lagardère Entertainment’s animated-series production arm, with the goal of developing the group’s youth brands. The company’s unique, innovative productions reach out to all aspects of the market – TV, the Internet, DVDs, publishing, video games and merchandising.
The company’s first series, La Famille Ouf (comprising 26 half-hour episodes), broadcast on TF1 and the Disney Channel, and Les Copains de la Forêt (52 13-minute episodes), which airs regularly on TF1 and TiJi, have been highly successful, drawing nearly 40% market share among children aged 4 and up.
Timoon has signed over 20 licensing agreements for this property with such book publishers as Hachette Jeunesse and Hachette Education (which have published over 40 books), Hasbro and Quick.
With the arrival of Boris Hertzog and Sandrine Nguyen in 2008, Timoon Animation entered a new growth phase. With its creative editorial team and rigorous approach to production, Timoon has developed expertise that can be adapted to every form of animation technology, from 2D to 3D and beyond.
