The company

Established in 1982 and headed by Klaus Zimmermann and Olivier Bibas, Atlantique Productions is dedicated to the production of prestigious international drama series.

Atlantique Productions' mission is to offer contents with high artistic value whose consistency and accuracy can pull in audiences, as American programs do, in a fast-changing worldwide market. Such productions require significant budgets and must therefore be financed by both European and international backers as well as involve the most talented European authors, directors and actors and, where necessary, the best U.S. talents.

Atlantique Productions’ positioning is that of a European company with a global outreach.

Its recent productions include: 

• Borgia, 24 x 44 min, by Tom Fontana, one of America’s most talented scriptwriters (Oz, Homicide), directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel (the Downfall, the Experiment), Dearbhla Walsh (Tudors), Metin Hüssein (Merlin), and Christoph Schrewe (The conclave).A coproduction with Germany’s EOS Entertainment and France’s Canal+ in association with Etic Films from the Czech Republic and with the participation of ZDF, ORF and Sky Italia.

• Transporter - the series, 12×52’ adapted from Luc Besson’s film franchise. A Franco-Canadian coproduction with QVF Inc. in association with the following broadcasters: M6 (France), RTL (Germany), HBO/Cinemax (USA), Movie Central and The Movie Network (Canada).

• Death in Paradise, Co-produced with Red Planet Pictures (GB) in association with BBC Worldwide and Kudos Film and TV for BBC One (GB) and France Télévisions (France).
